The Hurricanes have largely won with their defense and run game, though Carson Beck had the heroic moment against Ole Miss in the CFP semifinal with a late rushing touchdown to push Miami to the national title game. All of the wins have been close, starting with a 10-3 result over Texas A&M in the first round, a 24-14 upset of defending champion Ohio State in the quarterfinal and a 31-27 win over Ole Miss in the semifinal. Conversely, Indiana looks like a machine. The Hoosiers smoked the Alabama Crimson Tide 38-3 in the quarterfinal round after having a bye, then demolished Oregon 56-22. Fernando Mendoza will look to cap off his Heisman campaign with a national title and essentially secure his spot as the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft, while Curt Cignetti will try to win a championship at a school historically known for its prowess on the hardwood, not the gridiron. The SportsLine Projection Model feels Miami will cover the 8.5-point spread in 53% of simulations and actually feels the Canes offer value on the money line as +270 underdogs, since they win in 36% of simulations.

We'll see if Cooper Flagg and Jalen Brunson suit up for Monday's game for the Mavericks and Knicks, respectively, as both are questionable. Flagg has been a lone bright spot for the Mavericks this season, while Brunson helped the Knicks win the NBA Cup and is hoping for bigger prizes down the line. New York is a big 10-point favorite in the latest SportsLine consensus odds and the model sees the home team covering that spread in 67% of simulations.
