California vs. Oregon State: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the California vs. Oregon State football game
Oregon State and California are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2015, but not for long. The Oregon State Beavers will head out on the road to face off against the California Golden Bears at 10:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at FTX Field at California Memorial Stadium. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Oregon State strolled past Utah with points to spare, taking the game 21-7.
Oregon State can attribute much of their success to Silas Bolden, who rushed for 53 yards, and also picked up 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. Those 100 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Bolden.
Meanwhile, California narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Arizona State 24-21.
California can attribute much of their success to Jaydn Ott, who rushed for 165 yards and a touchdown. Those 165 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Ott. Jeremiah Hunter also helped out with an impressive 89 receiving yards.
What a start it's been for Oregon State: they've won four of their first five games so far this season, giving them a stellar 4-1 record. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 4-0 Washington State (Oregon State's opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 56% over those games). California's win on Saturday bumped their record up to 3-2.
Looking ahead, Oregon State shouldn't be too worried about this matchup, as the experts have them favored by 9.5 points. This contest will be their fifth straight as the favorites (a stretch that saw them go 3-2 against the spread).
Everything came up roses for Oregon State against California in their previous matchup last November as the squad secured a 38-10 win. Will they repeat their success, or will California rally this time around? Check CBSSports.com after the match to find out.
