Charlotte vs. Gardner-Webb: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Charlotte vs. Gardner-Webb football game
Game Recap
You can't lose the matchup if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Charlotte 49ers' strategy against the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs on Saturday. The 49ers blew past Gardner-Webb 38-10. That result was just more of the same for Charlotte, who also won the last time these teams played (Aug. 29 of 2019).
Charlotte's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 28 points in the first half. Gardner-Webb countered with 10 points. The Charlotte defense was impenetrable in the third quarter, shutting them out and essentially clinching the game. The contest brought Charlotte to 2-0 and dropped the Runnin' Bulldogs to a mirror-image 0-2.
The 49ers will take on the Georgia State Panthers at 7 p.m. ET next Saturday at Center Parc Stadium. Georgia State took a loss in their last game and are no doubt out to reverse Charlotte's good fortune. As for Gardner-Webb, they will go up against the Lincoln University (PA) Lions at 6 p.m. ET next Saturday at Spangler Stadium.
