Cincinnati vs. South Florida: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Cincinnati vs. South Florida football game
Game Recap
Saturday, the South Florida Bulls were out to avenge their 20-17 defeat to the Cincinnati Bearcats from their previous meeting last November, but they had no such luck. Things couldn't have gone much worse for the Bulls, who lost 28-7. They haven't found any success against Cincinnati since Oct. 14 of 2017, this loss making it three in a row.
No one had a standout game offensively for Cincinnati, but they got scores from RB Gerrid Doaks, TE Bruno Labelle, and TE Josh Whyle. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget WR Tre Tucker, who went all the way with a kickoff return for touchdown in the third quarter?
Cincinnati's defense was a force to be reckoned with, as it collected five interceptions and one fumble. CB Coby Bryant snatched up two of those interceptions, one with 14:35 left to play in the first quarter, the other with 10:51 remaining in the second quarter.
South Florida's only touchdown came from RB Johnny Ford.
The loss dropped South Florida back to even at 1-1. The victory improved the Bearcats' record to 2-0.
The Bulls will take on the East Carolina Pirates at 7 p.m. ET next week at Raymond James Stadium. Like South Florida, East Carolina is looking to wash their mouths of the taste of defeat after falling 49-29 to the Georgia State Panthers. Cincinnati will have some time to rest before their next matchup, which is against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane at 1 p.m. ET in two weeks at Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium.
