The Cincinnati Bearcats ran circles around the Temple Owls on Friday, and the extra yardage (537 yards vs. 226 yards) paid off. Cincinnati took their game at home with ease, bagging a 52-3 win over Temple. This was the most points they've scored all season.
The Bearcats' offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 17 points in the first half. Temple wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 17-3 heading into the break. Cincinnati put the contest away in the third quarter with 28 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense.
Cincinnati's RB Jerome Ford was on fire, rushing for two TDs and 149 yards on 15 carries. One of the most memorable plays of the matchup was Ford's 75-yard touchdown rush in the third quarter. QB Desmond Ridder had a good game, too, finishing with three touchdowns.
The victory bumped the Bearcats' record up to 5-0. The loss dropped the Owls back to even at 3-3.
Cincinnati will take on the UCF Knights at noon ET next week at home. Temple will have some time to rest before their next matchup, which is against the South Florida Bulls at noon ET in two weeks at Raymond James Stadium.
