Clemson vs. Connecticut updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Clemson vs. Connecticut football game
The Connecticut Huskies have enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they must head out on the road. Their week off comes to an end as they meet up with the Clemson Tigers at noon ET at Memorial Stadium on Saturday. The Huskies are hoping to patch up the holes in a defense that has allowed an average of 36 points per contest.
Things couldn't have gone much worse for UConn as they lost 44-13 to the Middle Tenn. Blue Raiders three weeks ago. UConn was down 34-13 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. QB Steven Krajewski wasn't much of a difference maker for UConn; Krajewski threw two interceptions.
Meanwhile, it was all tied up 17-17 at the half for Clemson and the Louisville Cardinals last week, but Clemson stepped up in the second half for a 30-24 victory. Clemson QB D.J. Uiagalelei was slinging it as he passed for two TDs and 220 yards on 30 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown.
Special teams collected 12 points for the Tigers. K B.T. Potter delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
The Huskies have to know they'll be fighting an uphill battle given the 41 point spread they are up against. However, those who like betting on the underdog should be happy to hear that they are 4-2 against the spread when expected to lose.
Clemson's win lifted them to 6-3 while Connecticut's defeat dropped them down to 1-8. We'll see if the Tigers can repeat their recent success or if UConn bounces back and reverse their fortune.
