Game Recap
After a dominant win in their contest two weeks ago, the BYU Cougars were humbled on Saturday. They were within a late touchdown of stealing the victory, but they took the "L" against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers 22-17. If the result catches you off guard, it should: BYU was far and away the favorite.
RB CJ Marable continued his habit of dropping crazy stat lines, rushing for two TDs and 132 yards on 23 carries.
BYU's loss came about despite a quality game from LB Tyler Allgeier, who rushed for one TD and 106 yards on 13 carries.
With their first defeat of the season, the Cougars fell to 9-1. The victory bumped Coastal Carolina's record up to 10-0.
BYU will take on the San Diego State Aztecs at 10 p.m. ET next Saturday at LaVell Edwards Stadium. These teams both have allowed few points on average (BYU 14.7, San Diego State 16.29), so any points scored will be well earned. As for the Chanticleers, they will face off against the Troy Trojans at 3 p.m. ET next Saturday at Larry Blakeney Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Like Coastal Carolina, Troy is also coming into the game bolstered by a recent victory.
