Coastal Carolina vs. Campbell Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Friday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Coastal Carolina vs. Campbell football game
The Campbell Fighting Camels fans better hope the squad plays one heck of a game on Friday as the odds are decidedly against them. They are on the road again on Friday and play against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers at 7:30 p.m. ET Sept. 18 at Brooks Stadium. Coastal Carolina will be strutting in after a victory while the Fighting Camels will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Campbell missed a PAT kick in the first quarter against the Georgia Southern Eagles on Saturday, and it came back to haunt them. Campbell and Georgia Southern were almost perfectly matched up, but Campbell suffered an agonizing 27-26 loss. QB Hajj-Malik Williams put forth a good effort for the losing side as he passed for two TDs and 237 yards on 27 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 73 yards.
The Chanticleers had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They had enough points to win and then some against the Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday, taking their matchup 38-23. Coastal Carolina's QB Grayson McCall was on fire, passing for three TDs and 133 yards on 18 attempts in addition to rushing for two TDs and 73 yards. McCall's longest connection was to WR Jaivon Heiligh for 43 yards in the second quarter.
The Fighting Camels were pulverized by Coastal Carolina 58-21 when the teams previously met two seasons ago. Can Campbell avenge their loss, or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll soon find out.
