COLO vs. WASH updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Colorado vs. Washington football game
Game Recap
On Saturday, the Colorado Buffaloes turned the game against the Washington Huskies into a track meet and took the gold after outgaining them 429 yards to 187. Colorado managed a 20-14 victory over Washington. For the Buffaloes, this is just revenge for the 27-13 defeat they suffered against Washington the last time they faced one another Oct. 20 of last year.
Colorado QB Steven Montez was slinging it as he picked up 56 yards on the ground on six carries and accumulated 223 passing yards. Colorado also got a significant boost from RB Alex Fontenot, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 105 yards.
Colorado's defense was a presence as well, and it made life painful for QB Jacob Eason and got past Washington's offensive line for a total of five sacks for a loss of 51 yards. Leading the way was S Mark Perry and his two sacks.
No one had a big game offensively for Washington, but they got scores from TE Cade Otton and RB Richard Newton.
The contest brought the Buffaloes to 4-6 and dropped the Huskies to a mirror-image 6-4.
The Buffaloes will square off against the Utah Utes at 11:11 a.m. ET next week at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Utah is also hoping to continue their momentum after a win on Saturday. The Huskies will take on the Washington State Cougars at 4 p.m. ET at home. Washington is the favorite here -- although they were the favorites in this last game, too, so the odds might count for a little less.
