Live scores, highlights and updates from the Colorado vs. Oregon State football game
Game Recap
The Oregon State Beavers fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 37-34. This was hardly the result the Beavers or its fans were betting on, as they were favored by 11.5 points over Colorado heading into this matchup.
Colorado QB Brendon Lewis was slinging it as he passed for three TDs and 170 yards on 24 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown. Colorado also got a significant boost from RB Jarek Broussard, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 151 yards.
Special teams collected 13 points for the Buffaloes. K Cole Becker booted in three field goals, the longest a 52-yarder in the second quarter, which ultimately accounted for the difference in the game.
Despite the defeat, Oregon State got a solid performance out of RB Trey Lowe, who punched in one rushing touchdown.
Oregon State's overall record fell to 5-4. Colorado's victory brought them up to 3-6.
The Beavers will look to defend their home turf next Saturday against the Stanford Cardinal at 5:30 p.m. ET. Stanford also suffered a recent loss, falling 52-7 to the Utah Utes on Friday. As for the Buffaloes, they will go up against the UCLA Bruins at 9 p.m. ET next Saturday at Rose Bowl. If the matchup is anything like Colorado's 48-42 win from their previous meeting in November of last year, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
