Connecticut vs. Middle Tenn. updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Friday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Connecticut vs. Middle Tenn. football game
Game Recap
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for the Middle Tenn. Blue Raiders on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 44-13 margin over the Connecticut Huskies. It took five tries, but the Blue Raiders can finally say that they have a victory on the road.
Middle Tenn. took a little while to warm up, but they followed up a slow three-point first quarter with 21 points in the second. UConn wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 24-13 heading into the break. The Middle Tenn. defense was impenetrable in the third quarter, shutting them out and essentially clinching the contest.
QB Chase Cunningham continued his habit of dropping crazy stat lines, passing for four TDs and 297 yards on 36 attempts. WR Jimmy Marshall was in the mix, too, providing Middle Tenn. with two touchdowns.
Special teams collected 14 points for Middle Tenn. K Zeke Rankin delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
No one had a standout game offensively for UConn, but QB Steven Krajewski led the way with one touchdown.
The Blue Raiders' win brought them up to 3-4. The Huskies' overall record fell to 1-8.
Middle Tenn. will be playing at home against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles at 3:30 p.m. ET next week. Unlike Middle Tenn., Southern Miss will be limping in after taking a loss. UConn will have some time to rest before their next matchup, which is against the Clemson Tigers at noon ET in three weeks at Memorial Stadium.
