The University of Maryland lost a third quarterback to a season-ending injury.
Head coach Randy Edsall released a statement Thursday evening announcing that quarterback Devin Burns will miss the rest of the season with a Lisfranc injury.
The Terrapins lost projected starter C.J. Brown to a knee injury in the preseason. True freshman Perry Hills started the first seven games, but he suffered a season-ending knee injury in Saturday's loss to NC State.
Burns, who moved from running back to quarterback after Brown went down, filled in for most of the second half, before Edsall turned to true freshman Caleb Rowe for the final drive.
Rowe had been expected to redshirt the season and hadn't appeared prior to the closing minutes of Saturday's game. He is currently the only quarterback available.
Maryland also announced that wide receiver Marcus Leak will miss the rest of the season with a fractured toe.
The Terrapins injury report for the week lists 28 players. Six are listed as out for the season, and another three are out for the game against Boston College on Saturday.
