Duke vs. Kansas Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Duke vs. Kansas football game
Considering their sizeable disadvantage in the spread, the Kansas Jayhawks can expect to have a real challenge on their hands on Saturday. They will head out on the road to face off against the Duke Blue Devils at 4 p.m. ET at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium. Duke should still be feeling good after a victory, while the Jayhawks will be looking to get back in the win column.
A win for Kansas just wasn't in the stars last week as the team never even grasped a temporary lead. They took a serious blow against the Baylor Bears, falling 45-7. Kansas was down 28-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. No one had a standout game offensively for Kansas, but QB Jason Bean led the way with one touchdown.
Meanwhile, Duke was hampered by 90 penalty yards against the Northwestern Wildcats last week, but luckily for them that wasn't the tale of the game. The Blue Devils came out on top against Northwestern by a score of 30-23. The Duke offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the contest anyway. Duke's RB Mataeo Durant looked sharp as he rushed for one TD and 102 yards on 22 carries in addition to snatching one receiving TD.
Duke's defense was a force to be reckoned with, as it collected three interceptions and two fumbles. The picks came courtesy of CB Jeremiah Lewis and S Lummie Young IV.
Kansas is now 1-2 while Duke sits at a mirror-image 2-1. A pair of defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Jayhawks are 243rd worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with ten on the season. The Blue Devils have experienced some rushing struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the matchup with the 160th most rushing yards allowed per game in the nation, having given up 169.7 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
