Live scores, highlights and updates from the East Carolina vs. Tulsa football game
3rd Quarter Report
Fortunes may be turning around for Tulsa after losing six in a row. It's still anybody's game after three quarters, but they are currently ahead of East Carolina 26-24.
If Tulsa keeps playing like this, they'll bump their record up to 4-8 in no time. On the other hand, East Carolina will have to make due with a 2-10 record unless they turn things around (and fast).
Preview
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane will head out on the road to face off against the East Carolina Pirates at 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Tulsa's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 35-28 to North Texas.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Anthony Watkins, who rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown. Kirk Francis had a good game too, finishing with 251 passing yards and three touchdowns in total.
Even if they lost, Tulsa's defense sure didn't make it easy: North Texas' QB was sacked five times before it was all said and done. Ben Kopenski was especially locked on to North Texas' QB and sacked him three times.
Meanwhile, the defenses reigned supreme when East Carolina and Navy played on Saturday, rewarding bettors who took the risk on the low 30.5-point over/under. East Carolina took a 10-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Navy.
Tulsa's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-8. As for East Carolina, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
Tulsa is hoping to beat the odds on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss.
