One player is transferring, another missed practice, and a third might be suspended. Preseason practice has started and the personnel issues are mounting in the ACC.
- Senior LB Fabby Desir is transferring from North Carolina. Desir was a junior college transfer last season and started two games. He was expected to back up Kevin Reddick this year. Coach
Larry Fedora confirmed the news at a Saturday press conference. “Fabby … how do you say his last name? Fabby Desir has chosen to be elsewhere,” Fedora said.

Coach Paul Johnson wouldn’t confirm the suspension, but a open-records request from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Ken Sugiura pointed to Young.
- Miami junior RT Seantrel Henderson missed the first two days of practice. He was excused on Friday to attend a funeral. Coach
Al Golden was unsure of Henderson’s travel schedule but seemed to expect him to be in attendance on Saturday, Susan Miller Degnan of the Miami Herald reported.
- Virginia QB Michael Rocco said he won’t lose the starting job to Phillip Sims, who transferred from Alabama. “I believe it’s my job to lose, and I’m not going to lose it,” he told David Teel of the Daily Press.
- Clemson’s players said goodbye to Twitter and Facebook right before the team’s first practice Friday. Coach Dabo Swinney and center Dalton Freeman said the idea of a season-long social media ban came from the senior class. David Hood of TigerNet.com talked to the team about the decision.
