The Florida Atlantic Owls ran circles around the Massachusetts Minutemen on Friday, and the extra yardage (368 yards vs. 147 yards) paid off. Florida Atlantic blew past UMass 24-2. That 22-point margin sets a new team best for the Owls on the season.
It was another big night for Florida Atlantic's QB Javion Posey, who accumulated 203 passing yards in addition to rushing for one TD and 90 yards. That touchdown -- a 70-yard rush in the third quarter -- was one of the highlights of the contest.
The win -- their fourth in a row -- raised Florida Atlantic's record to 5-1. UMass still hasn't won a game and fell to 0-3.
The Owls will take on the Middle Tenn. Blue Raiders at 3:30 p.m. ET next week at Johnny (Red) Floyd Stadium. As for the Minutemen, their regular season is over.
