Florida Atlantic vs. Memphis updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Wednesday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Florida Atlantic vs. Memphis football game
The Florida Atlantic Owls have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They and the Memphis Tigers will compete for holiday cheer in the Montgomery Bowl on Wednesday at Cramton Bowl at 7 p.m. ET. Memphis should still be riding high after a win, while the Owls will be looking to right the ship.
The point spread favored Florida Atlantic last week, but luck did not. They came up short against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, falling 45-31. QB Nick Tronti wasn't much of a difference maker for Florida Atlantic; Tronti threw one interception with only 4.91 yards per passing attempt.
Meanwhile, it was a close one, but last week Memphis sidestepped the Houston Cougars for a 30-27 victory. No one had a standout game offensively for Memphis, but they got scores from WR Calvin Austin III and WR Tahj Washington.
Special teams collected 12 points for the Tigers. K Riley Patterson booted in three field goals, the longest a 49-yarder in the third quarter, which ultimately accounted for the difference in the game.
Two stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Owls come into the matchup boasting the eighth fewest passing touchdowns allowed in the nation at six. But Memphis ranks seventh in the nation when it comes to passing touchdowns, with 28 on the season. These opposing strengths should make for an exciting matchup.
