You can't lose the matchup if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Florida State Seminoles' strategy against the Duquesne Dukes on Saturday. The Seminoles steamrolled past Duquesne 47-7 at home.
FSU's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 26 points in the first half. Meanwhile, the Dukes couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 26 to nothing heading into the break. The offense for FSU continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 21 points to put the game away. The contest brought them to 1-0 and dropped Duquesne to a mirror-image 0-1.
FSU will take on the LSU Tigers at 7:30 p.m. ET next Sunday at Caesars Superdome. The neutral point spread forecasts a close one for these two. As for the Dukes, they will face off against the Youngstown State Penguins at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday at Stambaugh Stadium.
