Florida State vs. Oklahoma Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Thursday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Florida State vs. Oklahoma football game
Bowl season is underway, and the Florida State Seminoles and the Oklahoma Sooners will compete for postseason bragging rights in the Cheez-It Bowl at Camping World Stadium at 5:30 p.m. ET on Thursday. With a combined 1,169 yards of offense in their previous games, we can expect a fast-paced contest.
The Seminoles were able to grind out a solid win over the Florida Gators four weeks ago, winning 45-38. FSU relied on the efforts of QB Jordan Travis, who passed for one TD and 270 yards on 30 attempts in addition to rushing for two TDs and 83 yards, and RB Trey Benson, who rushed for three TDs and 111 yards on 20 carries.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders four weeks ago but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 51-48. The Sooners were up 14 to nothing at the end of the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead. They might have lost, but man -- QB Dillon Gabriel was a total machine. He passed for six TDs and 449 yards on 40 attempts. Gabriel's 77-yard touchdown toss to WR Marvin Mims in the second quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the night.
FSU is the favorite in this one, with an expected 9.5-point margin of victory. Those burned by picking them against the spread four weeks ago might want to keep in mind that the team has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.
Florida State's victory lifted them to 9-3 while Oklahoma's loss dropped them down to 6-6. After the lofty point totals in their previous games, we'll see if they're able to heat things up even more while facing each other.
