Florida State vs. Syracuse updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Florida State vs. Syracuse football game
The Florida State Seminoles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Syracuse Orange at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium. Florida State will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Florida State was the big favorite in their most recent contest, and for good reason. Everything went their way against Virginia Tech on Saturday as Florida State made off with a 39-17 victory.
Trey Benson was a one-man wrecking crew for Florida State as he rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Benson's longest rush was for an incredible 85 yards. Jordan Travis also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, it's going to take some time for Syracuse to recover from the 40-7 bruising that North Carolina dished out on Saturday. Syracuse was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Orange weren't very productive in the air and finished the game with only 129 passing yards. They were smoked by their opponents in that department as North Carolina passed for 442.
Florida State's victory was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their overall record up to 5-0. That solid showing came about in large part from their offensive dominance: across that stretch, they averaged 42.4 points per game. This is the second loss in a row for Syracuse and nudges their season record down to 4-2.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Saturday's game as Florida State and Syracuse haven't had much trouble getting there this season. The Seminoles know how to score this season, having averaged 5.6 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like the Orange struggle in that department as they've been averaging 4.3 per game.
Everything came up roses for Florida State against Syracuse in their previous matchup last November as the squad secured a 38-3 win. Will Florida State repeat their success, or does Syracuse have a better game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
