Fresno State vs. Kent State updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Fresno State vs. Kent State football game
The Kent State Golden Flashes will head out on the road to face off against the Fresno State Bulldogs at 10:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Valley Children's Stadium. Kent State is expected to lose this one by 28 points, a fact the team is well aware of.
After a disappointing six points in their last contest, Kent State made sure to put some points up on the board against CCSU on Saturday. Kent State really took it to CCSU for a full 4 quarters, racking up a 38-10 victory at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0.
RB Gavin Garcia was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Those 125 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Garcia. QB Michael Alaimo was another key contributor, rushing and passing for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Fresno State must be getting used to good results now that the team's won 12 straight. They didn't even let Arizona State onto the board and left with a 29-0 win on Saturday. Fresno State pushed the score to 26-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Arizona State had little chance of recovering from.
Special teams was a major factor in the game and racked up 17 points in total. All those points came courtesy of K Dylan Lynch: he added 15 points with five field goals, and another two kicking extra points. His longest was a 50-yard strike in the third quarter.
Fresno State and Kent State pleased both fans and bettors in their last matchups by winning and covering the spread. Looking ahead, the game looks promising for Fresno State, as the team is favored by a full 27.5 points. This contest will be their third straight against a team with a winning record (a stretch that saw them go 2-1 against the spread).
Their wins bumped Kent State to 1-2 and Fresno State to 3-0. Watch the game and check back on CBS Sports to find out who keeps up the positive energy and who hits a stumbling block.
