Georgia Southern vs. Florida Atlantic: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Georgia Southern vs. Florida Atlantic football game
Game Recap
After a dominant victory in their contest two weeks ago, the Florida Atlantic Owls were humbled on Saturday. They took a hard 20-3 fall against the Georgia Southern Eagles. That's the fewest points Florida Atlantic has scored all year.
The Eagles can attribute much of their success to RB Logan Wright, who punched in one rushing touchdown. Another playmaker for Georgia Southern was WR Khaleb Hood, who returned a punt 49 yards to the end zone in the second quarter.
Georgia Southern's defense was a presence as well, as it collected two interceptions and two fumbles. The picks came courtesy of CB Derrick Canteen and CB Justin Birdsong.
Florida Atlantic's overall record fell to 5-2. Georgia Southern's win brought them up to 7-4.
The Owls are on the road again on Thursday and play against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles at 6:30 p.m. ET Dec. 10 at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium. Southern Miss also suffered a recent defeat, falling 23-20 to the UTSA Roadrunners two weeks ago. The Eagles will play host again and welcome the Appalachian State Mountaineers to Allen E. Paulson Stadium, where kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET next Saturday. Georgia Southern is 3-3 after wins this season, and Appalachian State is 2-0 after losses.
