In the season opener against Gardner-Webb, Wright had a season-high 26 carries for 177 yards with four touchdowns. Against Arkansas State a couple weeks back, Wright had 10 carries for a season-high 210 yards and two touchdowns.

Sophomore running back Jalen White also dominated Arkansas State's defense. White had 13 carries for 157 yards and two touchdowns while averaging a whopping 12.1 yards per rush. Last week Texas State rushed for 212 yards with two touchdowns against South Alabama, so expect the Eagles to be run-heavy on Thursday night.

Teams have struggled to pass the ball against the Jaguars' defense. They allow 190.2 yards through the air. South Alabama's defense has only allowed four passing touchdowns and 20 points per game. Senior safety Tre Young is tied for third in total tackles with 19, including 13 solo. Young leads the team with two interceptions while swatting two passes away.

Junior cornerback Darrell Luter Jr. leads the secondary with six pass breakups while snagging one interception on the year. Senior linebacker Jamal Brooks has also caught an interception and returned it 56 yards to the house for a score. The Eagles only average 127.5 passing yards per game.
