Georgia Southern vs. UAB Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Georgia Southern vs. UAB football game
The UAB Blazers will head out on the road to face off against the Georgia Southern Eagles at 6:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Allen E. Paulson Stadium. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
UAB took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 35-6 win over North Carolina A&T. UAB pushed the score to 28-3 by the end of the third, a deficit North Carolina A&T had littlechance of recovering from.
RB Jermaine Brown Jr. and QB Jacob Zeno were among the main playmakers for UAB as the former rushed for 47 yards and two touchdowns and the latter threw for 291 yards and three touchdowns on 41 attempts. Zeno wound up with a passer rating of 176.5. Securing the other side of the line was LB Jackson Bratton, who stumped the offense to the tune of eight tackles.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Georgia Southern over The Citadel in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Georgia Southern didn't even let The Citadel onto the board and left with a 34-0 win. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Georgia Southern had established a 31 point advantage.
UAB will need to dig deep on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. They finished last season with a mediocre 4-9 record against the spread, so bettors beware.
UAB beat Georgia Southern 35-21 in their previous matchup last September. The rematch might be a little tougher for UAB since the squad won't have the home-turf advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
