Live scores, highlights and updates from the Georgia State vs. Army West Point football game
The Georgia State Panthers and the Army West Point Black Knights will face off at noon ET Sept. 4 at Center Parc Stadium to kick off their 2021 seasons. Georgia State was on the positive side of .500 (6-4) last season and is hoping to kick off an even more successful year. Meanwhile, after a 9-3 record last season and an appearance in the Liberty Bowl, Army is coming in with an eye to spark another quality season.
A couple defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: The Panthers were eighth best in the nation in sacks, finishing the 2020 season with 34. As for the Black Knights, they ranked first in the nation in yards allowed per game, closing the year allowing only 275.3 on average.
The point spread is more or less neutral, so fans should expect a close game. We'll see if the game is as close as the oddsmakers expect or if one of these teams has a surprise blowout in them.
