Georgia State vs. Troy: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Georgia State vs. Troy football game
The Georgia State Panthers and the Troy Trojans are set to square off in a Sun Belt matchup at 2 p.m. ET Nov. 27 at Center Parc Stadium. Georgia State should still be feeling good after a win, while Troy will be looking to get back in the win column.
The Panthers beat the Arkansas State Red Wolves 28-20 last week. Among those leading the charge for Georgia State was CB Jamyest Williams, who rushed for two TDs and 125 yards on 16 carries.
Meanwhile, Troy's and the Appalachian State Mountaineers' contest last week was up for grabs at halftime, but Troy was thoroughly outmatched 35 to nothing in the second half. The Trojans were pulverized by the Mountaineers 45-7. Troy was down 31-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. QB Gunnar Watson had a pretty forgettable game, throwing one interception with only 5.14 yards per passing attempt.
The Panthers are the favorite in this one, with an expected 6.5-point margin of victory. Those burned by picking them against the spread last week might want to keep in mind that the team has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.
Georgia State is now 6-5 while the Trojans sit at a mirror-image 5-6. Two offensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Georgia State is 200th worst in the nation in passing yards per game, with only 159.6 on average. Troy has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the matchup with the 197th fewest rushing yards per game in the nation, having accrued only 103.6 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
