Georgia vs. South Carolina updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Georgia vs. South Carolina football game
Game Recap
The Georgia Bulldogs were the big favorite in their most recent matchup, and for good reason. They were the clear victors by a 40-13 margin over the South Carolina Gamecocks. That result was just more of the same for UGA, who also won the last time these teams played (Nov. 28 of last year).
The Bulldogs' offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 26 points in the first half. The Gamecocks weren't quite able to keep up, and the score was 26-6 heading into the break. UGA put the game away in the third quarter with 14 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense.
UGA can attribute much of their success to RB James Cook, who punched in one rushing touchdown in addition to snatching one receiving TD, and QB JT Daniels, who passed for three TDs and 303 yards on 31 attempts.
WR Josh Vann put forth a good effort for the losing side as he caught three passes for one TD and 128 yards.
The win improved UGA's record to 3-0. USC's loss pushed them down to 2-1.
The Bulldogs will take on the Vanderbilt Commodores at noon ET next Saturday at Vanderbilt Stadium. Vanderbilt took a loss in their last contest and are no doubt out to reverse Georgia's good fortune. As for the Gamecocks, they will face off against the Kentucky Wildcats at 7 p.m. ET next Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium.
