MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) Seth Henigan's school-record 24-yard touchdown pass to Roc Taylor with a half-minute remaining lifted Memphis to a 33-28 win over Charlotte on Saturday for the Tigers' fourth straight win.
Henigan's second TD pass of the game gave him 91, the most in Memphis history, passing Brady White.
After the 49ers retook the lead with just under two minutes left, Henigan led the Tigers down the field, hitting five consecutive passes including Taylor's catch just inside the left sideline in the end zone.
Charlotte (3-5, 2-2 American Athletic Conference) rallied behind freshman quarterback DeShawn Purdie, who started the second half, to score three fourth-quarter touchdowns. The 49ers took a four-point lead with two minutes left on Hahsaun Wilson's 18-yard run one play after Purdie's 57-yard completion to O'Mega Blake.
Memphis (7-1, 3-1) had gone in front moments before on Tristian Vandenberg's field goal set up by DJ Bell's interception at the Charlotte 8 that the Tigers couldn't convert into a TD.
A Memphis safety finished the scoring in the final seconds.

Purdie, who replaced Max Brown after the 49ers finished the first half with 75 yards offense, threw for 152 yards with a TD and interception. Cartevious Norton rushed for 86 yards and two scores. Blake had 128 yards receiving and a TD.
