Illinois vs. Penn State: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Illinois vs. Penn State football game
The Illinois Fighting Illini will be playing in front of their home fans against the Penn State Nittany Lions at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
Last Friday, Illinois came up short against Kansas and fell 34-23. Illinois was down 34-15 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
QB Luke Altmyer put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 202 yards and a touchdown, in addition to 70 yards on the ground and two rushing scores. Altmyer's most impressive was a 72 yard score in the third quarter. TE Tip Reiman also helped out by posting a receiving touchdown.
Meanwhile, Penn State extended their game-winning streak to seven on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 63-7 victory over Delaware at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.
Penn State relied on the efforts of RB Nicholas Singleton, who rushed for 47 yards and three touchdowns, and QB Drew Allar, who threw for 204 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of QB Beau Pribula, who rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown (he passed for an additional 22 and tossed a touchdown through the air).
Illinois will need to dig deep on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. They finished last season with a stellar 8-4 record against the spread, so they might be worth a quick bet.
While the Fighting Illini are hoping for a better result this time, the Nittany Lions are hoping to keep the momentum going. Check back to see if Illinois can bounce back or if Penn State can keep them down.
