Live scores, highlights and updates from the Indiana vs. Ohio State football game
Game Recap
The Ohio State Buckeyes ran circles around the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday, and the extra yardage (559 yards vs. 135 yards) paid off. OSU took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 54-7 win over IU. That's another feather in the cap for the Buckeyes, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
OSU's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 44 points in the first half. IU wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 44-7 heading into the break. The Ohio State defense was impenetrable in the third quarter, shutting them out and essentially clinching the contest.
OSU's success was spearheaded by the efforts of RB TreVeyon Henderson, who punched in two rushing touchdowns in addition to snatching one receiving TD, and QB C.J. Stroud, who passed for four TDs and 266 yards on 28 attempts. TE Jeremy Ruckert was in the mix, too, providing the Buckeyes with two touchdowns.
OSU's defense was a presence as well, as it got past the Hoosiers' offensive line to sack the QB five times for a total loss of 19 yards. It was a group effort with six guys contributing.
No one had a standout game offensively for IU, but QB Jack Tuttle led the way with one touchdown.
OSU's victory brought them up to 6-1. IU has fallen quite a ways from their 6-2 record from last season and are now 2-5.
OSU will take on the Penn State Nittany Lions at 7:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at Ohio Stadium. Penn State's offense will need to be on point to get points against OSU's defense, which is averaging only 14.71 points allowed per game. As for the Hoosiers, they will face off against the Maryland Terrapins at noon ET next Saturday at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium. IU is 2-2 after losses this year, Maryland 0-2.
