Jake McGee did not need a lot of time to figure out where he was going to finish his football career.
McGee, a tight end, announced he was transferring from Virginia at the end of April, and a few weeks later he announced on his Twitter feed that he'll be transferring to Florida. Which is good news for a Florida offense that could certainly use all the help it can get matriculating the ball down the field.
McGee was Virginia's leading receiver in 2013, finishing the year with 43 catches for 395 yards and two touchdowns. The only Gator player to finish with more catches or touchdowns than McGee last season was Solomon Patton, who finished with 44 catches and six touchdowns.
Also, as far as I can remember, McGee never blocked his own teammate during a play, so that's another bonus for the Gators.
Since McGee has graduated from Virginia he will not have to sit out a season and is immediately eligible for 2014.
