The App. State Mountaineers will head out on the road to face off against the James Madison Dukes at 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Showker Field at Bridgeforth Stadium. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
App. State entered their tilt with Georgia State with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. App. State steamrolled past Georgia State 42-14 on the road.
App. State got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nate Noel out in front who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Noel was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 61 yards. Joey Aguilar had a good game too, finishing with 255 passing yards and three touchdowns in total.
Meanwhile, James Madison put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 44-6 victory over UConn. The margin was wide but not a surprise since the spread was 25.5 in James Madison's favor.
James Madison can attribute much of their success to Reggie Brown, who picked up 202 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Jordan McCloud, who threw for 457 yards and four touchdowns while completing 89.2% of his passes. Elijah Sarratt also helped out as he racked up 160 receiving yards.
Their wins bumped App. State to 6-4 and James Madison to 10-0.
App. State is hoping to beat the odds on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss.
App. State came up short against James Madison in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, falling 32-28. Can App. State avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
