Kansas State vs. Kansas: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Kansas State vs. Kansas football game
Game Recap
The Kansas State Wildcats won the last time they met up with the Kansas Jayhawks, and they shouldn't regret having come to the reunion, either. The Wildcats steamrolled past Kansas 55-14 at home. That looming 41-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for K-State yet this year.
K-State relied on the efforts of RB Deuce Vaughn, who punched in one rushing touchdown in addition to catching four passes for 81 yards, and QB Will Howard, who passed for two TDs and 243 yards on 24 attempts. Howard ended the contest strong with a streak of 11 complete passes. Kansas State's DB Justin Gardner got in on the action, too, converting a pick in the second quarter into a touchdown.
Kansas' only offensive touchdowns (two) came on a rush from QB Jalon Daniels. That's the most rushing touchdowns Daniels has had all year.
The win -- their fourth in a row -- raised K-State's record to 4-1. The Jayhawks still haven't won a game and fell to 0-5.
The Wildcats will square off against the West Virginia Mountaineers at noon ET next Saturday at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium. K-State is 3-0 after wins this season, and West Virginia is 1-0 after losses. As for Kansas, they will face off against the Iowa State Cyclones at 1 p.m. ET next Saturday at Kivisto Field at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. Like Kansas, Iowa State is looking to wash their mouths of the taste of defeat after falling 24-21 to the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
