Kent State vs. Buffalo: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Kent State vs. Buffalo football game
After two games on the road, Kent State is heading back home. They will take on the Buffalo Bulls at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Saturday, Kent State lost to Eastern Michigan on the road by a decisive 28-14 margin. Kent State gained 125 more yards on the day, but it was Eastern Michigan that made the best of use of them.
Despite the defeat, Kent State got a solid performance out of Luke Floriea, who picked up 63 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Tommy Ulatowski also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Meanwhile, Buffalo scored first but ultimately less than Bowling Green in their game on Saturday. They took a 24-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. Buffalo didn't live up to their potential and found themselves falling short of the advantage oddsmakers thought they had coming into the game.
Kent State's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's lackluster offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.6 points per game. As for Buffalo, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
In addition to losing their last games, Kent State and Buffalo failed to cover the spread. As for their next game, Buffalo is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by six points. This contest will be Kent State's sixth straight as the underdogs (so far over this stretch they are 0-5 against the spread).
Kent State came out on top in a nail-biter against Buffalo when the teams last played back in November of 2022, sneaking past 30-27. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Buffalo's Matt Myers, who rushed for 110 yards and three touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be that much easier for Kent State to walk away with another win? Check CBSSports.com after the match to find out.
