Kent State vs. Buffalo updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Kent State vs. Buffalo football game
Game Recap
The Kent State Golden Flashes were hampered by 94 penalty yards against the Buffalo Bulls on Saturday, but luckily for them that wasn't the tale of the game. Kent State took their game against Buffalo 48-38. The Bulls can consider this payback for the 70-41 loss they dealt Kent State the last time the teams encountered one another last November.
Kent State's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 31 points in the first half. Buffalo countered with 10 points. The Golden Flashes were outperformed in the second half 28-17 but had enough points saved up to walk away with the win.
QB Dustin Crum went supernova for Kent State as he passed for three TDs and 407 yards on 36 attempts in addition to rushing for two TDs and 71 yards. WR Dante Cephas also deserves a shout-out for his three TDs.
RB Kevin Marks Jr. hadn't helped the Bulls' cause all that much against the Western Michigan Broncos last week, but the same can't be said for this matchup. Despite the defeat, Buffalo had strong showings from RB Dylan McDuffie, who punched in one rushing touchdown, and Marks Jr., who punched in two rushing touchdowns.
The win got Kent State back to even at 3-3. Buffalo's loss pushed them down to 2-4.
Kent State will take on WMU at 3:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at Waldo Stadium. Unlike Kent State, the Broncos will be stumbling in off of a loss. The Bulls will take on the Ohio Bobcats at noon ET next Saturday at home. Buffalo is 1-2 after losses this year, Ohio 1-3.
