Kentucky vs. Akron updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Kentucky vs. Akron football game
The Kentucky Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Akron Zips at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Kroger Field. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Kentucky's game was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Eastern Kentucky by a score of 28-17. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Kentucky.
Kentucky relied on the efforts of WR Tayvion Robinson, who found the endzone twice on 136 receiving yards, and QB Devin Leary, who threw for 299 yards and four touchdowns on 38 attempts. Robinson's got a big chunk of his yards on one 56-yard play. It was a true group effort though, as the team also got help from WR Barion Brown, who scored a touchdown off of 51 receiving yards.
Akron came out on top against Morgan State by a score of 24-21 (the very same score they lost to the week prior).
Looking ahead, the game looks promising for Kentucky, as the team is favored by a full 25 points. They finished last season with a stellar 8-4 record against the spread, so they might be worth a quick bet.
Kentucky ought to be happy about their advantage in the spread: the team was a solid 4-2 when favored last season. Betting on them to win was the most profitable play last year, as bettors who put $100 on that outcome in every game walked away with $703.44. On the other hand, Akron was 1-10 as the underdog last season.
