Kentucky vs. Mississippi State: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Kentucky vs. Mississippi State football game
Game Recap
The Mississippi State Bulldogs were the 28-13 winners over the Kentucky Wildcats when they previously met last September. Two weeks ago? They had no such luck. Things couldn't have gone much worse for the Bulldogs as they lost 24-2. This makes it the second defeat in a row for them.
No one had a standout game offensively for UK, but they got scores from RB Christopher Rodriguez Jr. and TE Keaton Upshaw. Terry Wilson's longest run was for 51 yards in the second quarter. Kentucky's LB Jordan Wright got in on the action, too, converting a pick in the fourth quarter into a touchdown.
The Wildcats' defense was a force to be reckoned with, as it collected six interceptions. Those interceptions were spread across their defensive unit.
The loss dropped the Bulldogs' record to 1-2. The win bumped UK's record up to an identical 1-2.
MSU will look to defend their home turf last week against the Texas A&M Aggies at 4 p.m. ET. A&M is 0-1 after wins this season, and MSU is 0-1 after losses. As for the Wildcats, they will face off against the Tennessee Volunteers at noon ET last week at Neyland Stadium. Unlike UK, Tennessee will be stumbling in off of a loss.
