Liberty vs. Louisiana-Monroe: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Liberty vs. Louisiana-Monroe football game
Game Recap
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for the Liberty Flames two weeks ago. They made easy work of the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks and carried off a 40-7 win. That looming 33-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Liberty yet this year.
Liberty QB Malik Willis was slinging it as he accumulated 177 passing yards in addition to rushing for one TD and 87 yards. The Flames received some extra help from WR Treon Sibley, whose fumble return for touchdown in the second quarter made for one of the game's most unforgettable moments.
No one had a standout game offensively for Louisiana-Monroe, but they got scores from QB Jeremy Hunt and RB Kadyn Roach.
The victory for Liberty kept them a perfect 4-0. Louisiana-Monroe still hasn't won a contest and fell to 0-5.
Liberty will take on the Syracuse Orange at noon ET last week at Carrier Dome. Unlike the Flames, 'Cuse will be limping in after taking a loss. The Warhawks can take some time to mend their wounds since their next game isn't for a while. They will face the South Alabama Jaguars at Hancock Whitney Stadium at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday. Louisiana-Monroe fans better hope the squad plays one heck of a game as the odds are decidedly against them.
