The Liberty Flames entered their game on Saturday as the heavy favorite, and they fully lived up to expectations. They blew past the Old Dominion Monarchs 45-17. That's another feather in the cap for the Flames, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Liberty's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 28 points in the first half. Old Dominion countered with 17 points. Liberty put the contest away in the third quarter with 14 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense.
The victory bumped Liberty's record up to 3-0. The defeat dropped Old Dominion's record to 1-2.
The Flames will square off against the Syracuse Orange at 8 p.m. ET next Friday at Carrier Dome. 'Cuse is coming in off of a big 62-24 win over the Albany Great Danes. As for the Monarchs, they will face off against the Buffalo Bulls at 6 p.m. ET next Saturday at Kornblau Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium. Old Dominion is 1-0 after losses this year, Buffalo 0-1.
