After having lost a blowout in their game last week, the Georgia State Panthers were happy to find some success on Saturday. They made easy work of the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks and carried off a 55-21 victory. This was the most points they've scored all season.
The Panthers' offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 28 points in the first half. Louisiana-Monroe wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 28-7 heading into the break. The offense for Georgia State continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 27 points to put the game away.
QB Darren Grainger had a dynamite game for Georgia State; he passed for four TDs and 230 yards on 25 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 84 yards. WR Ja'Cyais Credle also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
The losing side was boosted by QB Chandler Rogers, who passed for two TDs and 208 yards on 23 attempts in addition to picking up 72 yards on the ground.
The win bumped Georgia State's record up to 2-4. Louisiana-Monroe's defeat pushed them down to 2-3.
The Panthers will have some time to rest before their next contest, which is against the Texas State Bobcats at noon ET in two weeks at Center Parc Stadium. As for the Warhawks, they will go up against the Liberty Flames at 7 p.m. ET next Saturday at JPS Field at James L. Malone Stadium. Louisiana-Monroe will need a sterling offensive performance if they want to penetrate an unbending defense that has allowed an average of only 14.33 points per game.
