Louisiana Tech vs. Houston Baptist updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Louisiana Tech vs. Houston Baptist football game
Game Recap
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs were hampered by 105 penalty yards against the Houston Baptist Huskies on Saturday, but luckily for them that wasn't the tale of the game. Louisiana Tech put the hurt on Houston Baptist with a sharp 66-38 win. The margin was wide but not a surprise since the spread was 23.5 points in the Bulldogs favor.
Louisiana Tech started the contest off right with 38 first-half points. Houston Baptist wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 38-17 heading into the break. Louisiana Tech offense just added to that total in the second half en route to their big win.
Louisiana Tech QB Luke Anthony was on fire, passing for five TDs and 314 yards on 30 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown. WR Wayne Toussant was in the mix, too, providing the Bulldogs with two touchdowns.
The losing side was boosted by QB Bailey Zappe, who passed for five TDs and 406 yards on 58 attempts.
The victory makes it two in a row for Louisiana Tech and bumps their record up to 2-0. Houston Baptist still hasn't won a game and fell to 0-3.
Louisiana Tech will square off against the BYU Cougars at 9 p.m. ET next Friday at LaVell Edwards Stadium. BYU is coming in off of a big 48-7 win over the Troy Trojans. The Huskies are staying on the road next Saturday to face off against the Eastern Kentucky Colonels at 3 p.m. ET Oct. 3 at Roy Kidd Stadium.
