Live scores, highlights and updates from the Louisiana Tech vs. Southern Miss football game
Game Recap
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs were the 31-30 winners over the Southern Miss Golden Eagles when they previously met last September. On Friday? They had no such luck. The game between them was not particularly close, with the Bulldogs falling 35-19. This was hardly the result they or its fans were betting on, as they were favored by 15.5 points over Southern Miss heading into this contest.
WR Jason Brownlee was the offensive standout of the matchup for the Golden Eagles, snatching two receiving TDs. Southern Miss' LB Averie Habas got in on the action, too, converting a pick in the fourth quarter into a touchdown.
Southern Miss' defense was a force to be reckoned with, as it collected two interceptions and three fumbles. The picks came courtesy of Habas and DL Josh Carr Jr..
The loss dropped Louisiana Tech's record to 3-8. The win bumped Southern Miss' record up to 2-9.
Louisiana Tech will square off against the Rice Owls at 1 p.m. ET next week at Rice Stadium. The Golden Eagles will look to defend their home turf next week against the FIU Panthers at 3 p.m. ET.
