Louisiana Tech vs. UTEP updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Louisiana Tech vs. UTEP football game
Game Recap
After a dominant victory in their game four weeks ago, the UTEP Miners were humbled two weeks ago. They were within a late touchdown of stealing the win, but they took the "L" against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs 21-17. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Miners of the 42-21 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head last October.
RB Israel Tucker hadn't helped Louisiana Tech's cause all that much against the BYU Cougars three weeks ago, but the same can't be said for this contest. Louisiana Tech's Tucker filled up the stat sheet, punching in two rushing touchdowns. That's the most rushing touchdowns Tucker has had all year. Working against the Bulldogs was the performance of QB Luke Anthony, who passed for only 85 yards on 20 attempts.
No one had a standout game offensively for the Miners, but they got one touchdown from QB Gavin Hardison.
UTEP's overall record fell to 3-2. The win bumped Louisiana Tech's record up to 3-1.
UTEP will have some time to rest before their next matchup, which is against the Charlotte 49ers at noon ET on Saturday at Jerry Richardson Stadium. UTEP is the clear underdog, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one. The Bulldogs will play host again and welcome the Marshall Thundering Herd to Joe Aillet Stadium, where kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET last week. Marshall is also hoping to continue their momentum after a 38-14 win over the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers two weeks ago.
