Louisville vs. Clemson Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Louisville vs. Clemson football game
The Louisville Cardinals are 0-5 against the Clemson Tigers since September of 2015, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. U of L and Clemson will face off in an ACC battle at 7:30 p.m. ET at Cardinal Stadium. The Tigers will be strutting in after a victory while U of L will be stumbling in from a defeat.
It was all tied up 7-7 at halftime, but U of L was not quite the NC State Wolfpack's equal in the second half when they met last week. U of L took a hard 28-13 fall against the Wolfpack. No one had a standout game offensively for the Cardinals, but WR Jordan Watkins led the way with one touchdown. Malik Cunningham's 76-yard touchdown toss to Watkins in the first quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the night.
Meanwhile, the Tigers beat the Florida State Seminoles 30-20 last week. Clemson can attribute much of their success to RB Will Shipley, who rushed for two TDs and 128 yards on 25 carries. This was the first time Shipley has racked up 100+ rushing yards all year.
The Cardinals are expected to lose this next one by 4. Those burned by picking them against the spread last week might want to keep in mind that the team has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.
U of L is now 4-4 while Clemson sits at 5-3. A pair of stats to keep an eye on: U of L is 225th worst in the nation in passing yards allowed per game, with 299.5 on average. Clemson has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the matchup with the 174th fewest passing yards per game in the nation, having accrued only 180.3 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
