Live scores, highlights and updates from the Louisville vs. Florida State football game
The Louisville Cardinals will be returning home after a two-game road trip. The Cardinals and the Florida State Seminoles will face off in an ACC battle at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday at Cardinal Stadium. The point spread is more or less neutral, so fans should expect a close contest.
U of L decided to play defense against itself last week, but the squad still came out ahead despite their 88 penalty yards. They managed a 20-14 victory over the UCF Knights. U of L QB Malik Cunningham was slinging it as he accumulated 201 passing yards in addition to rushing for one TD and 121 yards. Cunningham's performance made up for a slower matchup against the Syracuse Orange two weeks ago.
Meanwhile, FSU won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the LSU Tigers 24-23. FSU relied on the efforts of QB Jordan Travis, who passed for two TDs and 260 yards on 33 attempts in addition to picking up 31 yards on the ground, and WR Ontaria Wilson, who was on the other end of those TDs and tacked on 102 yards receiving.
FSU's defense was a presence as well, as it got past LSU's offensive line to sack QB Jayden Daniels four times for a total loss of 19 yards. Leading the way was DE Jared Verse and his two sacks. Those were the first sacks for Verse.
Their wins bumped the Cardinals to 1-1 and the Seminoles to 2-0. Watch the contest and check back on CBS Sports to find out who keeps up the positive energy and who hits a stumbling block.
