The Charlotte 49ers will head out on the road to face off against the Maryland Terrapins at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at SECU Stadium. The two teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Charlotte gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They took down SC State 24-3.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Maryland on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 38-6 victory over Towson. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Maryland had established a 29 point advantage.
Charlotte will need to dig deep on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. They finished last season with a mediocre 4-8 record against the spread, so bettors beware.
Charlotte ended up a good deal behind Maryland when they played in their previous matchup last September, losing 56-21. Can Charlotte avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
