Maryland vs. Penn State: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Maryland vs. Penn State football game
The Penn State Nittany Lions and the Maryland Terrapins will face off in a Big Ten clash at 3:30 p.m. ET Nov. 6 at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium. Maryland will be strutting in after a victory while the Nittany Lions will be stumbling in from a loss.
Penn State came up short against the Ohio State Buckeyes last week, falling 33-24. QB Sean Clifford had a pretty forgettable game, throwing one interception and fumbling the ball once.
Meanwhile, it was a close one, but last week Maryland sidestepped the Indiana Hoosiers for a 38-35 win. WR Carlos Carriere and QB Taulia Tagovailoa were among the main playmakers for Maryland as the former caught eight passes for two TDs and 134 yards and the latter passed for two TDs and 419 yards on 40 attempts. Carriere hadn't helped his team much against the Minnesota Golden Gophers two weeks ago, so this was a nice turnaround for him.
Penn State is the favorite in this one, with an expected 10-point margin of victory. Those who got lucky with them against the spread last week might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the squad has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.
The Nittany Lions and the Terrapins now sit at an identical 5-3. A couple stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Penn State is 211th worst in the nation in thrown interceptions, having thrown seven on the season. Maryland has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the matchup with the 231st most thrown interceptions in the nation, having thrown nine on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
