Maryland vs. Penn State: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Maryland vs. Penn State football game
Maryland is 1-7 against Penn State since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Maryland Terrapins will be playing in front of their home fans against the Penn State Nittany Lions at 3:30 p.m. ET at SECU Stadium. Coming off a loss in a game Maryland was expected to win, they now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.
Maryland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell to Northwestern 33-27.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Taulia Tagovailoa, who threw for 274 yards and three touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Maryland's defense sure didn't make it easy: Northwestern's QB was sacked five times before it was all said and done. Northwestern's QB won't forget Tre Colbert anytime soon given Colbert sacked him five times.
Meanwhile, Penn State gave up the first points last Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Indiana by a score of 33-24.
Penn State got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Drew Allar out in front who threw for 210 yards and three touchdowns. KeAndre Lambert-Smith also helped out with an impressive 96 receiving yards.
Maryland's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Penn State, their win was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-1.
While only Penn State took care of their fans the last time they played, neither team managed to cover. Looking ahead, Penn State is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by ten points. For those looking to play the spread, keep Maryland's opponent in mind: they have a subpar 1-4 record against the spread vs Penn State over their last five matchups.
Maryland was dealt a punishing 30-0 defeat at the hands of Penn State in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Will Maryland have more luck at home instead of on the road?
