MD vs. NEB: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Maryland vs. Nebraska football game
Game Recap
The Nebraska Cornhuskers ran circles around the Maryland Terrapins on Saturday, and the extra yardage (530 yards vs. 178 yards) paid off. Nebraska put a hurting on Maryland to the tune of 54-7. That result was just more of the same for the Cornhuskers, who also won the last time these teams played (Nov. 19 of 2016).
The contest started off well for Nebraska, whose offense put up 34 first-half points. Meanwhile, Maryland couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 34 to nothing heading into the break. The Nebraska defense was impenetrable in the third quarter, shutting them out and essentially clinching the matchup.
Nebraska QB Adrian Martinez did work as he picked up 94 yards on the ground on ten carries and threw two passing touchdowns. The squad can also thank their defense for forcing the opposing offense to cough up 4 turnovers.
The win bumped Nebraska's record up to 4-6. The loss dropped Maryland's record to 3-7.
Nebraska will take on the Iowa Hawkeyes at 2:30 p.m. ET next week at Tom Osborne Field at Memorial Stadium. As for the Terrapins, they will face off against the Michigan State Spartans at 3:30 p.m. ET at Spartan Stadium.
