MIA vs. UVA Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Thursday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Miami (FL) vs. Virginia football game
Through 3 Quarters
The Virginia Cavaliers were expected to take an 'L' in this one, but so far it isn't playing out to script. It's anybody's game after three quarters, but the Cavaliers are ahead of the Miami (FL) Hurricanes 27-21.
No one has had a standout game offensively for Virginia, but they have gotten scores from RB Wayne Taulapapa, RB Mike Hollins, and WR Dontayvion Wicks. Miami (FL) has been riding high on the performance of RB Cam'Ron Harris, who has rushed for two TDs and 70 yards on eight carries. Harris has put himself on the highlight reel with a 57-yard TD scramble down the left side of the field in the third quarter.

What to Know
The Virginia Cavaliers are 1-5 against the Miami (FL) Hurricanes since November of 2015, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit Thursday. Virginia and Miami (FL) will face off in an ACC battle at 7:30 p.m. ET at Hard Rock Stadium. The defensive coordinators will surely put in extra hours ahead of this contest since these teams' offenses combined for 1,243 yards last week.
The Cavaliers received a tough blow last week as they fell 37-17 to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Virginia's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of QB Brennan Armstrong, who passed for two TDs and 407 yards on 59 attempts in addition to picking up 33 yards on the ground, and WR Dontayvion Wicks, who caught eight passes for one TD and 114 yards.
Meanwhile, Miami (FL) got themselves on the board against the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils last week, but Central Connecticut State never followed suit. The Hurricanes put a hurting on the Blue Devils at home to the tune of 69 to nothing. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49 to nothing. Miami (FL)'s RB Cam'Ron Harris was on fire, rushing for two TDs and 100 yards on ten carries in addition to catching one pass for one TD and 83 yards. That nimble footwork stands out as the first time Harris has hit the 100-yard rushing mark this season. Harris' sharp performance also set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.
The Cavaliers are expected to lose this next one by 3.5. They have failed bettors playing the spread in their past two games, so buyers beware.
Virginia and Miami (FL) now sit at an identical 2-2. A pair of defensive stats to keep an eye on: Virginia is stumbling into the game with the 220th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up nine on the season. Miami (FL) is completely their equal: they are 220th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with nine on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
